Rascal: June 2010 Mix
Posted on June 25th, 2010
It’s been a while. I was a bit put off by the response I got for donations. This show costs me money and when it started to get so popular I needed a seperate server just for my podcasts I didn’t think 2 dollars was asking a lot. It made me realize people just don’t want to pay for anything when it comes to music. That is why the big record labels are in the shitter and the small labels are splitting peas. I wish we could charge a couple bucks for a podcast so we could compensate all the artists on the mix and make some money on the side. The last mix had over 60,000 downloads… only if Itunes would let us charge for a podcast … then this could be my only job and I’d be getting out a new mix every 2 weeks. I get emails all the time from people asking when the next mix is coming out… and it’s almost been a year. I want to thank those few who donated… each and every one of you have deserved a fresh mix since last year, and I apologize for taking so long.
The new mix is a manic rollercoaster ride from blues, jazz, funk, latin, hip hop, to dubstep… Enjoy the ride.

August 6th, 2010 at 5:03 pmHi mate,
Just read the blog for the first time but subscribed to the podcast for over a year now. I didn’t see the request for a donation but I would be more than happy to pay for the podcasts you produce. I am based in Warwick in the centre of England and have a background in music production, djing and promoting. Your podcasts have changed the style of music I now search for and demonstrate what a REAL DJ can do…. Educate people in different genre’s of music and put them together in a well thought out mix without boundries. Love the work, it’s very much appreciated. Keep it going…. let me know how I can support and where donations can be made.

Love your styles- wish i was still promoting, would have definitely booked you.
Planning my wedding and using you as inspiration for the playlist- if i had the money i’d be flying you out to London believe!
You gotta make it easier for us to donate. Can’t quite work out how to do it via paypal with just your email address. can you get your IT people to set up a paypal button that directs us to donate?
